  best progresive mode for hvx 200

  Hello

  which is the best format to shoot on the hvx in true progressive.
  1080i/25p or 720p/25p. noticing that the 1080i/25p is an interlaced scan but has a progressive frame rate?

  The HVXs initial scan is Progressive, then the other formats are disseminated form there. 1080i/25p is psf (a progressive image in an interlaced wrapper). 720p is ‘true p’ as it were. Wither way, you are getting essentially a progressive image as long as you render without fields in your NLE when working in 1080. 720p is always progressive.

  but is 1080 25p a better format in visual quality in progressive, than the 720p 25p?

  There’s no right answer. It’s up to you. Personally I prefer 720p- that is the native format and give you more variable frame rate options so that’s what I shoot. But maybe you have to deliver in 1080 in which case that’s your answer.
