I have a client that would like his footage in an OMF file for an older avid system. Is there a way to shoot 720P 24PN and then convert it to an OMF file. I’d like to shoot on the HVX 200 than go back to a DigiBeta system.

Nope. They need to get a newer Avid that can deal with the P2 format. Then either use that to edit this (recommended), or use it to export the footage as some sort of QT format that the older Avid can then import and convert to OMFI. But by then you have compressed twice.

If they want to deal with P2, they need to upgrade. Nows a good time, Avid 3.0 is CHEAP. And all they need is the software and the computer to run it. Oh, and a drive to store the media.
