I know you can use the DualAdapter / Dual Adapter with the new Mac laptops.

Has anyone been able to get it to work with a Mac tower?

We are prepping for an event at the end of next week (3/26/08) and we will be having an editor in a room editing the Highlight video on a Mac G5 tower. We want to be able to have him download off the cards using the tower so we don’t have to do it through a laptop and then swop over the drive. We’re trying to come up with another solution other than buying the Panasonic card reader for $1,800.

    We have:

Mac 2×2.66 GHz Dual-Core intel Xeon
    and a Mac G5 4×2.5 GHz
-installed a PCI-Express to ExpressCard Adapter
    -Dual Adapter
    -Installed Panasonics P2 Drivers

When I hooked in the Adapter and card, the lights light up on the PCI-e card but there is no activity.

Does anyone have any experience or success with this?

    Need answers quick!!!

Thanks for any help or suggestions you can give.

It is possible that you installed the drivers in the wrong order. I think the right order is to install the Adapter, then with P2 card in the Adapter, install the P2 drivers.

If this is what you did, then (scratching head) it has to be something else.

Perhaps you could rent the P2 Drive instead of purchase?

Thanks for the info. I’ve tried so many different variations, I don’t know if I tried this one. I’ll give it a go when I get in and see if this solves the problem.

Are you running leopard (10.5) by any chance?

There are many people who cannot use Dual Adapter under Leopard.

No. I’m not running leopard. I’m running Tiger (10.4.11).
