  HD recording + SD output?

  So I’m trying to do a couple of things with my HVX and having mixed results. Basically I want to shoot in 720p30 and output SD to an RF unit at the same time. The RF unit we’re using only has composite out so I’m going component out of the HVX into an AJA downconvert box and out of that box to a monitor (just to test everything out).

  Going SD component out of the downconverter has worked fine for me, but when I try SDI I can’t get it to work.

  Any suggestions?

  Where does the sdi come into the equation? What converter are you using?

  If all you are doing is recording 720P30 to P2 cards you can use the rca composite out to the rf unit. Conversion is done for you in camera. You can only have 1 output at a time connected, you can not connect component AND s-video or composite because the component takes precedence and will cancel the other out puts on the camera.
