  FYI – New TSA Rules re: Lithium Batteries

  FYI

  There are new TSA rules regarding the number and manner in which you may travel on a commercial airliner with lithium batteries. This may especially impact batteries used for cameras like the P2 Cameras.

  Thanks for the heads up. Good thing we carry our cameras on the plane instead of checking them.

  I thought that was just for the small rechargable kind (ie AAA, AA, etc.) I was told laptop, and encased batteries were ok?

  Just read again, oh boy…

  Another FAA bureaucrat trying to get ahead.

  It appears that professional camera batteries are targeted. Your “brick” is now considered dangerous! There -HAS- to be some sort of waver we can get, but I haven’t found it yet. The TSA site mentions “special case” in reference to large lithium batts, but doesn’t define the term! I only have a Sony PD-150, but I travel with 2 “baby bricks” as I call them, which probably fall into the restricted category.
