Just got a LaCie Rugged 120GB hard drive from my Panasonic rep for an HVX-2000, for dumping footage on the run, and I can’t get the damn thing to work! Hook it to the camera, put the cam into USB host mode, PC on.

It spins up the drive, but doesn’t give me any options other than “verify”. I can’t explore or export; they’re greyed out, as is the HD indicator (manual says it doesn’t recognize the drivewhich doesn’t make sense, since the camera is spinning up the drive!!!)

I’ve followed the manual verbatim, and am getting no positive results.

Developing the need to kick something really hard… help!!!

Have you confirmed the drive has the correct formatting. I believe it has to be a PC format, but I don’t remember which one. I’m sure I’ve seen that spec in the manual.
