  • no audio when converting mfx files

Hello. I converted mfx files to avi files so I could use them in Vegas 8. However, the video files are the only ones that convert. In the main ‘content’ folder, there are audio and video file folders and each of them have files but only the video will convert and when they do, they don’t have any audio with them. This is a new problem as the converter I’m using used to provide audio as well automatically. I’m using Adobe’s (ney serious magic’s) dv batch converter program. I tried Raylight but have the same problem. And this is a big problem for me as we have a lot of footage for a project that we shot in NYC and we’re trying not to freak. Any suggestions?

I would download the sample P2 card image at dvfilm.com/raylight and compare it with yours as regards the names of the audio files vs the names of the video files. I don’t suppose this was recorded on a firestore?

Assuming that’s all correct and RayMaker does not complain about missing audio files, then the next question is, did you record sound on channels 1,2?

If not then drag the channel 3,4 audio MXF files directly into Raymaker and it will convert them into WAV files and they can be imported separately.
