  need help formatting transfer hard drive for a PC AVid system

  Hey there,

  I wonder if there is anyway to get a quick answer by 7am tomorrow morning?? I’m going to start clicking my heels…

  I’ve been successfully shoot P2 for myself and my FCP clients for a while. I offload the P2 cards onto firewire hard drives that I format with the Mac OS Journaled formatting in the Disk Utility of my Mac.

  Bu I haven’t yet offloaded content to clients editing on PC AVid systems. Tomorrow is my big day for this.

  My basic question is…I know that when the hard drive I’m going to use for my macs is formatted with FAT32 instead of Mac OS Journaled it can be a real problem and can corrupt clips and so on. So I always format for my mac projects correctly…

  But is there a format that I should make sure the PC based external firewire or usb hard drive is formated in for when that drive is going to be used with a PC based Avid system?

  And is there by chance a hard drive format that is safe for both if you might work with the content on both platforms?

  Any feedback would be great thanks!!!
