    Hey guys,

I have been trying to connect an HVX 200 to an XP laptop via USB cable to transfer files. Unfortunaly this is a DV9000 and has only an express card slot, which I was told here would not work with the Duel adapter. I know that the USB connection will be really slow, but there are times when that will have to do.

Anyway, am I missing something. I switched the camera to viewer mode, and set the menu PC mode to USB. Yet not sign of a USB connection in the laptop (Not even a chime). I downloaded the P2 manager, I no longer have have the original CD. BTW, the same thing happens with 16GB and 32 GB cards.

    Thanks,

    Vince

Hold the button down until the “PC MODE” light comes on.

And that DV9000 *might* work with the duel adapter and P2 cards if you always write-protect the cards. I’ve heard that can sometimes make it work.

    Thanks Barry,

BTW, is there is way to get firewire transfer with XP/Vista?

    Thanks,

    Vince

You mean 1394 Device mode? Or live streaming? Live streaming is no problem, but 1394 device mode is not supported in Windows; at least, Panasonic says it’s “not guaranteed” and they recommend you use USB in Windows.

Yes, I meant transfer. It just would be so much faster. Oh well…

    Thanks,
