  Low Photoshop files quality in After Effects

  Hi
  I have a trouble with picture quality when working in After
  Effects.
  When I create a new comp in AE sized 1024 x 576 and use
  PSD file sized 2912×4368 px, the picture appears pixelated.

  I noticed that when I choose bigger composition size eg
  1920×1080, using the same big PSD file (2912×4368 px), the
  quality comes up much better than on 1024×576 comp size.
  What is the relation between image size in pixels, to the size
  of the composition in AE?
  What is the best comp size to work with in AE?
  I was advised to use 1024 x 576 as it’s the industry standard
  apparently. My PSD file work only in 1920×1080 though and
  I’m worried that I’m doing something wrong here.

  Scaling (whether scaling up or scaling down) loses quality.

  If you are using a large PSD file and scaling it down in After Effects, you should instead be preparing the file in Photoshop so that it’s the size that you need in After Effects.
