  • HVX auto knee?

I’ve been shooting a fair amount of underwater footage with a HVX, and on looking at the pics through a waveform, I notice that the peaks and blowouts occur at about 70%. So the range is compressed between 20 and 70% (give or take) on the waveform itself.

I realise that the range of light is less underwater, but I was hoping to get more info across the board in the footage that I’m shooting. Is this a result of the auto knee pulling the info at 100% down to around 70%? Should I try a higher knee setting?

    Many thanks.
