P2 card mounting problem
Posted by Bored With fcp problems on June 9, 2007 at 11:55 amBoth of my P2 cards have decided to stop mounting on my G4 laptop. I tested them on another laptop and encountered the same problem. The cards still work fine on the camera.
Any suggestions on how to get them to mount again?David S. replied 19 years ago 3 Members · 5 Replies -

Also, are these 4 Gb or 8 Gb cards? If 4 Gb has their firmware been updated?

June 9, 2007 at 3:48 pmThey’re 8 gig. I did try to reormat them but it didn’t help. I can’t think why it’s happened. The only thing I did was leave them in the camera for a week or so. Would that have damaged them?

June 9, 2007 at 5:31 pmAnother thought – did you reformat or optimize your G4 drive? If so, the P2 driver that FCP uses might have been moved or altered. Perhaps you just need to reinstall that driver. It’s on the CD, but may also be downloadable if you search online.

June 10, 2007 at 10:09 amThanks for the driver reinstall tip. It worked and I got the computer to see the P2 card again. The only issue that remains is that FCP is still not seeing it. When I go to import it doesn’t give me the option to import P2.
