  • DVCPRO 720/24P Footage Problem in FCP

    Hello,

I need a bit of help. I am trying to import footage recorded at 720/24p on the HVX200 into FCP 5.0.4. The clips import, but when I open them in the canvas or viewer, the entire clip is black but the audio plays. A message displayed reads ‘Missing Codec. You may be trying to blah blah blah without the proper hardware.’. So, I guess I need a DVCPRO HD Codec even though FCP has this footage as an ‘Easy Setup’ preset??? The same problem occurs in Quicktime Pro, so I have to assume I am missing this necessary codec. Where can I get it??? What is the best codec to preserve the image entirely???

I am operating FCP 5.0.4 on a Powerbook G4 OSX 10.4.9, imported media are Quicktimes from External. Please help.

    Tim
