We have a complicated workflow for some P2 files that came to me on a hard drive. They were shot 720 at 24P but need to end up in a 30i Avid project. I am bringing them into FCP to convert them to 30i QT’s. They will be the master files that I can then import into Avid.

I have some questions about the export settings: Should I export using H.264? 720 x 486 or 720 x 480? What about Frame Ordering – on or off?

    Thanks very much,

Export as their native format, DVCPRO-HD, Avid can read that. H.264 will compress the hell out of it. Going to any other format will re-compress the footage.
