  composite dubbing query

  hello all, I’ve been asked to do a job using a Panasonic camera, all the client knows at the moment is that it’s a P2 (I know, that’s really helpful!)

  But they have footage that is DV that was shot with the camera. It’s NTSC to NTSC. We’re in the UK so some how they have sourced two cameras.

  Is it possible using a firewire to firewire lead that I can do a composite dub from one camera to the other. I know not all camera’s have this function, the old Canon XM2 could do it.

  Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

  The Panasonic HVX200 has a dv tape compartment as well as P2 card slots. Sounds like that is the camera as it’s the only one I know with that set-up. It only will record dv25 onto the tape but it will record dv25, dvcpro 50 or dvpro 100(hd) onto P2 cards. Firewire is component and you can do a firewire to firewire dub with the cam no prob.
