Haven’t heard anything at all but NAB is typically when these kinds of things are announced if they are to be announced.

Panasonic doesn’t appear to waiting for NAB to announce anything lately. They’ve announced about 5 new P2 related products in the last several weeks! They’re spiraling out of control over there and it’s not even huricane season!

The rule is when you need it buy it. Waiting till the last minute can leave you with a new piece of equipment you are unfamiliar with when you need to get going with it. Even if you only have it 2 weeks before a new release that 2 weeks can count toward considerable value already gained (worked off) from the price you paid. It’s always tough buying before NAB though.

    Hi,

Don’t think you will see anything this year. But in chiming in with the others here, if you need a camera, you should buy the camera.

    Hoe that helps,

Don’t forget about renting. These cameras are for rent all over the place, I can pull together several cameras no problem of course you need to be close to a fairly big size city.

My rule is if I can rent it for less within a year then the purchase price, I rent it, unless there is just a huge benefit to having it handy.

I own one camera and rent others for multi cam shoots.
