Can’t read P2 cards from import P2
New to this.
MacBook Pro, FCP 5.1.2, QT 7.1.3, installed P2 driver. Using Panasonic HXV200 with 1080i/24p footage on P2 cards.
Do not see the “No Name” files mounted on desktop
They do not show in the “Import P2” list
I can digitize the clips from the camera so it is reading the footage. What is my problem?
Also, What Easy Setup should I be using “1080ipA24” seq? These need to be rendered? Can this be right? -

If you are not seeing the cards mount on the desktop you have bigger problems than FCP. You mention you have a Macbook Pro, so how are you trying to mount the cards? MacBook Pros don’t have PCMCIA slots in them.
My guess is that you don’t have your camera set up properly to transfer the files, check page 77 of the manual.

Ya it’s me.
To answer your questions, I did review p.77, that isn’t the problem (or the solution).
My set-up:
HXV200 (1080i/24p on P2 cards) to MacBook Pro. running FCP5.1.2 & QT 7.1.3. Installed the P2 driver.
P2 doesn’t mount on desktop or is listed in the FCP import P2 window. I can digitize this footage from this set-up. -
Yes, your camera is in the wrong mode. If you can digitze you are set up to edit, your camera needs to a set up for a drive. Look at the explanation later on pg 80 something.
