    Hi there,

Because of time constraints, I haven’t been able to test the formats before shooting (MAJOR mistake I won’t repeat) and we shot all week long using the 720/25p and 720/50p formats of the HVX200E that we rented. Our workflow was to save each P2 card to 2 firewire disks connected to my PB.

As you’ve guessed, the problem is that I’m now the proud owner of disks full of P2 content that I cannot import in my FCP 5.1. I have heard about the P2 Log software and there seem to be a trick using Kona cards. What’s the best solution for us? Unfortunately, we can’t afford buying an hardware solution for this and I would hate to have to use Avid for this project (not because of Avid but because I’m an FCP user…)

Thanks in advance for your help,
    Laurent

Thanks, I’ve read it. The way I understand it, you need a Kona card for this trick… which I don’t have. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Maybe our english is too bad but you won’t need a Kona card for import and editing …

Ouch! It’s probably my fault, I’m sure I read it too quickly. I’m reading it again carefully now. Thanks!

If your source is P2, you won’t need any additional hardware for input and editing. You may want a Kona or a BlachMagic card for external viewing or output to tape, though.

My bad, I was reading 720p50_FCP5_en.pdf instead of 720p25_50_HVX200_en.pdf. Thanks for your help.
