    Hello;
    For better quality and cleaner keying, which is a better format to shoot green screen from HVX200? Either HD or dvcpro50 as it has far less compression then HD (and less resolution)?

    My suggestion is to experiment as greenscreen is not a one size fits all sort of thing. Personally I like to use 720 24pN but then again I’ve done a lot of greenscreen and I know how to light it and shoot it for easy keying- even with DV so…

    I’d go for HD, in my impression the camera is optimized for it. Why not use the higher resolution and later scale down the final composite to SD? You’ll be scaling down any minor artefacts as well that might still be there. The codec is mor or less the same, and it’s a good one for keying.

    Regards,

    I’m doing a greenscreen project right now with HVX and using DVCPro50, and dvGarage’s dvMatte chroma keyer. Works great. Easy to get clean edges.
