  HVX as a FCP tape deck

  Can the HVX be used as a source and record tape deck through firewire for FPC? I have read the manual and can’t figure it out.

  Yes but not recommended. A proper DV tape deck is much better and less wear on your expensive camera.

  Thank you Noah. Can you tell me the settings on the camera to make this happen?

  Switch to DV 480i in the menus then flip the switch on the back of the camera from P2 to tape. Then switch the camera off and on.
