We are currently shooting a series with the HVX200, and the majority of our footage is shot at 720p 24N. We are switiching things up for timelapse, to 720p 60 frames / interval – 1 frm every 2 seconds. As well we are trying some slow motion in the camera – 720p 24N @ 60frms. We have set up or project for DVCPro 720p 24, and have ‘ingested’ all of our material with that easy set up.

When working with the 24p material – all is working well. But if we add some of timelapse material to the timeline, it is not playing back smoothly after it is rendered. The 720p 60 frames timelapse footage plays back smoothly when you play it back in the Viewer – but after rendering it – it has a stobe to it.

No other settings have been switched. When we ‘ingest’ we are selecting Panasonic P2 – and then importing all clips. I have not been selecting ‘Remove duplicate/adv. pull down frames’ – do I need to do that with the 720p 60 frames timelapse footage?

We currently running – in the field – a PowerBook G.4 1.67 MHz with 2 GBs of Ram. Don’t know if this is a Ram issue or not. We will be transferring all of our stuff to a G5 Quad – with 4GB Ram as the series progresses. Will that erase my problem, or is it deeper than that?

We love the motion effects we are getting out of the camera – any advice on how to get them to playback smoothly along side the 720p 24 material would be greatly appreciated!

    Andrea
