Activity Forums Panasonic Cameras Any problems recording 1080p to Firestore drives

    your editor needs to look at the file a little closer.
    Recording data is 1080 50i and yes that would be a higher data rate than 25p
    it is the nature of the firestore unit to record the video the same as it would be on tape.

    the Firestore does not record in the PN mode

    1080/50i and 1080/25p have exactly the same data rate, 100 megabits.

    The FireStore records every mode: DV, DVCPRO, DVCPRO50 and DVCPRO-HD, in every frame rate. The bitrate of 1080 footage is always 100 megabits. The bitrate of 720 footage, when recorded out the firewire port, is always 100 megabits.

    The only thing the FireStore can’t record is the 720pN mode, and that’s because no video data is sent out the firewire port when in the 720pN mode.
