  • Where Is The HVX200 STOP BUTTON?

Posted by David S. on April 25, 2006 at 8:57 pm

When recording back to the p2 cards via firewire from FCP you hit the stop button to stop recording.

Where the heck is the stop button?

The manual says it is the record button which is part of or adjacent to the on/off switch.

Another poster at a different forum says it is the arrow below the square arrow which is the select button for menus at the top of the cam.

I have to use the remote to stop recording, because there is a little confusion as where button and where on the cam stops recording out of firewire from FCP to a p2 card.

    Help please.

Then, we are supposed to use the remote to stop recording, and the manual is wrong or confusing about where the stop button is located?

[david Saraceno] “The manual says it is the record button which is part of or adjacent to the on/off switch.”

That would be referring to the red button in the middle of the on/off switch would it not?

You’re confusing the camera record button with the VCR/MCR stop button.

The camera “stop” button is the same as the “start” button, which is of course the red button you press with your thumb in camera mode.

The MCR/VCR stop button is the same button used to stop a clip playback from the thumbnail screen. Or, said another way, when you’re navigating the menus, it’s the same button you use to navigate “down”. The “play” button is the same as going “up” in the menus, and the “stop” button is the same as the one that navigates down in the menus.

    Thanks Barry.

I am certain that this slight ambiguity will be clarified in your upcoming book.
