  P2 Randomness

  We’ve been shooting all weekend with the HVX200, and have noticed a bit of randomness with the P2 cards. We have a laptop on set (Powerbook G4 1.67 GHz, Mac OS 10.4.5, FCP 5.0.4, QT 7.0.4, HVX200 Panasonic drivers) and are using the built-in PCMCIA slot to read the P2 cards. About every 5th time we try to do a download, the P2 card just won’t be recognized, even though the icon appears in the menu bar. Nothing will make it mount. Ejecting and reinserting doesn’t help. When we reboot the Powerbook, it will immediately show up and function normally. Any thoughts on this? It’s a bit disruptive to the workflow.

  Try repairing permissions on your powerbook.

  Unfortunately, that didn’t fix the problem. Good idea though.
