    Hello All,

I am reinstating Michael Pappas’s account here at Creative Cow as he and I had a long talk by phone. As I told Michael on the phone, I have absolutely nothing against Michael personally and simply wanted him to understand the gravity to which we assign cross-posts and other things which we feel cause Creative Cow to begin to appear as little more than a repeat of many other sites across the Net.

I apologised to him for my hard-nosed policies on these kinds of things but asked that he understand that Kathlyn and I have 10 years into building communities and want the Cow to be a special resource and not a site like so many others on the Net.

As I also mentioned to Michael, I have watched him interact in our sites since the days of the Radius VideoVision Studio online group and the Media 100 Worldwide Users Group back in 1995. I have been aware of Michael for about a decade now and have always had a lot of respect for him and feel that his knowledge of this industry is a real asset to the communities that he hangs out in. But that said, I asked that he honor our policies on cross-posting, etc., and Michael was very gracious in his admission that he had not looked at it from our point of view.

So thank you for the call, Michael. It was nice to have such a lengthy conversation with you and thank you for understanding our sometimes over-protectiveness towards the Cow. As you mentioned yourself, Michael, we spend so many hours on this thing that it’s almost like one of our kids and parents are always very protective of their kids.

    Thanks for the call, Michael.

Also, I regret it took a day or so to get this up here but I have been in the last minute rush of getting the new Strawbs album mastered so that the guys can preview it tonight when they are here to do a concert in Cambria. It’s been so nuts you wouldn’t believe it… ;o)

    Have fun, all.

Ron and Kathlyn, thank you, it’s wonderful to be back.

I had a fantastic conversation with Ron Lindeboom. As Ron mentions we go back ten years at-least when I had joined a SIG ( special Interest Group ) over at AOL. My aol days; the sig was so cool. I was there because I was involved with the VVS radius system and trying to learn this new technology called NLE. I actually didn’t know tell our conversation that Ron owned another site that I thought highly of. Ron and I had atleast a two hour conversation. We talked about the earlier days and were it has come now. The late Charles McConathy etc. I actually no more about Ron and his wife Kathlyn, and how much they have been involved in this business then I did before our conversation. I feel that I have made a connection with two wonderful souls and have two more friends in my life.

I will always go out of my way to clear the air with others. Having friends is a very powerful experience that no one should ever avoid. Having enemies leads to internal decay of your soul. My parents taught me that you always try to resolve a problem to the fullest. People who know me, know that is who I am, and how I conduct myself.

On this planet, people need people; as a forest needs water to grow. It is our daily experience that we have with people that waters our soul, and if we look for the positive and do what is right, we grow with them into a beautiful forest.

Ron and I talked about how this board exists because of everyone. We must interact here as if we were in Ron and Kathyln’s home at an outdoor barbecue face to face; treat each other as friends do, with respect , and be proud to be in the company of such wonderful friends.

All of us should be grateful to whatever belief we carry inside our heart; that we are so lucky to be around such beautiful souls.

    Sincerely,

    Michael Pappas
