  Keying footage with motion blur

  Hi
  I have had a search around the internet for a solution to this but not found anything that I can use yet. Perhaps the footage can’t be fixed? I’m not sure.

  Anyway, I have some motion blur on my green screen footage and obviously once I do the keying with primatte it’s coming out a tad funky, as you can see by the picture below.

  Is there any way to make this look better or is that just the nature of motion footage with a shutter of only 1/50?

  It seems to be the Natural Motion Blur of Camera due to the fast movement of subject and Slow Shutter Speed.

  You don’t say which version of AE you have, but if it’s AE6, there are some incredible new masking feather tools available:

  Yes sorry I am using CS6

  The room was very well lit in a professional studio. The reason it looks so flat is because I am yet to grade and shot it that way on a dslr using cinestyle. Should I be doing some basic grading before keying?
