    Weird things are happening.

First in Vegas, I “render as” a clip at 23.976 using the NTSC DV 24p(inserting 2-3 pulldown) template. My project properties is also at 23.976.

Next I set my Comp Setting in AE. I set it to 23.976. Then interpret footage 23.976. I did some rotoscoping then I My point is I should be working at 23.976 right

Well when render que, and import back to 23.976 Vegas timeline, my footage is 33% slower. Also my black and white footage has the crushed blacks. It looks different from footage on AE timeline

    What am I doing wrong?

Your best bet is to export an image sequence (.png) from a 23.976 (24p)Vegas timeline, open that in AE, make your adjustments, render out as a new 23.976 png image sequence, and reimport into your Vegas 24p timeline.
