    All:
A friend’s daughter is an aid worker on the island of Leros.
She is giving a talk on the refugee situation, which I am video recording.
I have a map of the island, which I intend to use in the Title Sequence.
I would like to have it fill in with color as lines from different directions connect to it, indicating the influx of the refugees from various areas, similar to a liquid filling a glass.

As usual, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try this example project. All you need to do is wipe between a clean version of the map and a version that’s filled with the other colour. I’ve put a Crystallize filter on the mask so it looks as the the surface of the liquid is rippling.

Or are you looking for something more complex than this?

    Simon:
    Thanks for your effort.
As a gentle reminder, I am still using Motion 5.3.2
I haven’t upgraded because this version works perfectly for the level at which I work, and I have been burned in the past with upgrades.
If it is possible for you to adjust it as you did with the last project you helped with, it will be appreciated.
If not, it’s not a problem.
Going forward, I have a sticky note now on my computer to remind me to include this info in any future postings.

Sorry, Michael. Here it is again.

BTW I’m not doing any especially fancy when I revert the version numbers. You can do the same if you open the Motion project in Text Edit and change the numbers.

My 5.4.5 version looks like this:

In order to give you your version I changed it to this:

Just make sure you only change the two sets of numbers – don’t retype the quotation marks as these might then turn into Smart Quotes and break everything.

Also obviously it’s best to make a copy before attempting the edit.
