  Layer slide out effect – lock mask position to background (not to parent)

  How can I achieve a slide out effect such as this?

  

  Currently, I’m using masks on the two side layers that move out, but I’m struggling to keep the masks’ positions locked, as they move with their parents by default.

  UPDATE: Solved it! Just had to un-parent the mask from the layer, and put the mask above the layer.
