  Film Frame Text

  Hi Folks,

  Does anyone have experience creating text that looks like the text on the side of a film frame? Similar to the text on the right side of the image linked below:

  The reverse of this with a white background would work as well. The goal is to just place the text on top of Super 8 footage.

  To me it looks like an Arial rounded type font with a yellow drop shadow around it.

  There’s a really nice way of getting this effect and that’s to take your text and blur it quite a lot (which will round the edges), and then apply a Levels filter and adjust the Alpha Black In (not the RGB) to add sharpness back to the shape.

  In this case you will want two instances of this, one for the black core and the other for the wider yellow version.

  You don’t actually need a rounded font to achieve the look – just plain Arial will probably do.

  Try just adding a glow to the text. A little blur. Maybe use add mode.
