I have watched all of the Ripple Training videos but can’t figure this out. I am making a template/effect that I can apply to the main video with the drop zone being used for PowerPoint slides. I want to be able to pan/scale the video in the effect source window and not the window. The slide in the drop zone doesn’t need to be scaled or panned. I can not get all of the scale/pan parameters to work. In my researching of the problems I am having I know that I can’t publish/rig the Pan. So how can this be done?

Publish the Position and Scale parameters for the Placeholder layer, which is what becomes your video.

Thank you Mark. Publishing both of those makes the the effect source window bigger and moves the window around. I want to be able to change the position and scale of the video in the window and not the window size or position.

Are you publishing a title or an effect?

I am trying to do this with an effect. Should I be using a title instead?

Not necessarily just wanted my test to match what you are doing. You need to publish the Position and Scale parameters in the Properties Inspector for the effect placeholder. You can then scale or move your video itself.

I made it in Titles and mostly got it to work. When I go to Image/Final Cut Placeholder everything works. I have not gotten the Scale to work. If I Publish the one Scale slider I get the X slider and not the Y slider or the just one slider to scale in both directions.
