My station is transitioning to Final Cut Pro X and I am in the process of creating FCP generators to work in conjunction with our in-house graphics package. I am trying to put together a simple text reference generator for when we use video from other sources.

I’ve set up a rig to toggle if the source is YouTube content or not but the courtesy text would be modified in Final Cut Pro. I would like to see if the YouTube graphic can be offset to reflect the text input in Final Cut Pro using the Link behavior.

Does anyone have any advice on how to properly set it up.

You are going to need to publish the position of the logo and move in FCP X depending on the text length. There is no exposed parameter in Motion that describes text length.

Thank you Mark! I ended up designing just that I believe. I published the X position to allow for the offset of the logo depending on the text input. Thanks for the advice!
