    Hi guys, first time poster.

I’m working on a documentary about my local University hockey team, I have a wealth of old black and white photos to work with and I’m trying to create some 2.5D effects, I’ve created eleven so far and tried to import to Motion 5 and Final cut pro X without success, in fact; the PSD files seem to crash Motion before it even really gets going, and FCPX will import but calls the files “unsupported” and will not preserve layers.

Here is a dropbox link to one of the PSDs for analysis.

The PSDs are saved with layers preserved, I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong, can anyone provide any guidance? I was working off this tutorial. https://vimeo.com/10452451

Make sure the color space of the PSDs is set to RGB, not Greyscale.

    Mark,

Success! However, only FCPX was affected positively by this change. Motion 5 remains unable to view all but one file and crashes the moment it is selected in the file browser, but at least FCPX is able to read it correctly, so I’ll just follow your ripple training tutorial on FCPX 2.5D effect.
