Motion 5 Tutorial: Create your own lens flares from scratch
Here’s a two part tutorial looks at the processes required to build and link up the major components of a lens flare from scratch in Motion 5, from glow to rays to streaks to lens artifacts, lens reflections, chromatic aberration and more.

Obviously in just 15 minutes it’s not going to be easy to build the world’s greatest ever lens flare but this should give you enough tricks to make something pretty impressive of your own, I hope, or at least show you some ways of using Motion that you might not have thought of yet.

I doubt it somehow 😉
And actually I’m going to be giving this away for free as a Motion project / FCP X effect once I’ve added some extra bells and whistles and done a bit more work on making it user-friendly.
Not sure why cos I entirely agree that there should have been a moratorium on lens flares a seriously long time ago – I remember thinking I’d had enough of them back in the nineties!
