rhomboid query
I get the idea this is a beginners question but I’m real puzzled as to why my nice square picture inserts turn into rhomboids when I rotate them ??????
Anybody know why please ?
Also please, I have a new Dell monitor which displays all circles wider than they should be, as ovals, and if anyone has any thoughts on that as well I’d very much appreciate it also.

Without seeing it, it sounds to me as if you’ve got a mask which isn’t rotating when the material inside the mask is rotating. That’s the only thing I can imagine which would turn a square into a rhombus. Or are you using a matte channel?

I have a still which is cropped using a mask rather than an applied matte —– still puzzled ……

Could it just be a setting in the video card? (ex: your desktop is set 1920×1080 but the actual screen resolution is 1920×1200)

Is it possible that the mask inadvertantly got locked? You can lock a mask independent of the layer it’s working on. Just a thought. Otherwise, I would image that the mask always moves and rotates with the clip – I’ve never had it do otherwise.

— will check the video card settings — sounds like a likely culprit and would explain both issues
—– and will also checkout the possibility of a ‘locked
mask’…might need it one day anyway ……
