  This is confusing….

  This is confusing and hurts my head.

  All you need to do is unlink the audio. What it means is that you have a clip with audio and you are trying to replace it with a clip with out audio. To unlink the audio look for the 8 symbol in the clip layer and click on it to unlink the clip and you are ready to go.
