  why does Motion treat fonts differently than Photoshop?

  I loaded in the Frank font, and most of it is identical in Motion as compared to PS, but quotation marks are quite different. Just vertical lines in Motion, but curled hash marks in PS. Also, i had to adjust tracking by 5% in Motion to be the same as zero tracking in PS. I could do the graphics in PS, but there is an animated lower third that is much easier to work with in Motion. Any ideas why there is such a difference, at least in these little details?

  I believe PS is using a different engine than Motion that handles text. This might help explain some of it: https://www.adobe.com/devnet/fireworks/articles/adobe_text_engine.html

  Adobe changed how it handled typography a bunch of years back…which was a giant pain with regards to Illustrator: https://www.creativepro.com/article/the-creative-toolbox-the-legacy-of-illustrator
