Motion 5 vs. previous versions
I’m new to Motion… just acquired 5.
So, while watching training vids I’m seeing versions 2 & 3 and in every case the trainer is showing off this huge assortment of templates that came with the program. I don’t see the same thing with Motion 5. Am I missing something or are they simply no longer provided?
Is there somewhere to get them or does one need to find an old version of Motion 3 for sale?

Just so I’m clear… based on what you’re showing, is that Apple elected to exclude the majority of the templates that were included in Motion 2-4, in version 5? (Like I said in my original post, I’m brand new to Motion.)

Actually, Apple created a whole bunch of brand new Motion templates – but they aren’t in Motion, they are in FCP X, in the browsers for title, transitions, effects, generators, and themes. From there, you can open any of them in Motion. You need to think of these browsers in FCP X as the new location for what used to be the Templates Browser.
Apple brought forward most of the Motion 4 HD templates within Motion 5 (some with the app, some as the supplemental content download). They did not bring the SD templates forward.
