Title coming out of water
Hi people,
Just need to create an intro to a program i am making about alligators!
I have an image of a lake with a few gators in it. I also have a text object of the name of the programme. I have added keyframes so the title moves up above the lake.
Now, here is the part i am stuck on. I want to use Motion to animate the sequence so it appears as if the title is coming out of the lake!
Any ideas how to do this?

There could be any number of ways, but it would really help to see what you’re describing so that we can make better suggestions. Can you post a screen grab?

Yeah sure
Here are three images showing the trajectory of the title.
At this point i need the title to be completely invisible. (as if it is under water)
At this point i need the title begin ‘appearing’ out of the water
And this in the finishing position of the title.

OK, that’s simple.
Make sure your “Gator Tales” caption is in its own group. Select the group (NOT the caption layer), and at the point where the caption is at its lowest position (i.e. supposedly underwater), draw a rectangle mask around the caption and set it to “Subtract”. Your caption will disappear. When you play the project, though, the caption will move up from behind the mask as if it’s appearing out of the water.
You’ll want to add a bit of feathering to the mask to soften the edge, and then you can think about refining it further with reflections and that sort of thing.
