  Using Motion 3 and Photoshop at the same time

  Hi all,

  We do a lot of work in Photoshop with motion.

  In some cases once I’ve brought a file into motion, I can make changes with Photoshop while Motion is open. In other cases, Photoshop will tell me the file is in use when I try to save it, requiring me to close motion and then re-poen after saving.

  Oddly just closing the motion Project file doesn’t do it either. I have to close motion entirely.

  I can’t seem to identify what I’m doing different in each case.

  It would be very convenient to just be able to always edit my PSD’s with motion open.

  So If anyone can help, that would be terrific!

  Once the file is saved in Motion you most close Motion to make changes to the Photoshop file. If you don’t save the project then it will not ask you to close Motion. Hope this helps answer your question. Best of luck.

  do autosaves count? (i’d doubt it as they have separate file names)
