Growing Vines
Posted by Robin Thomas on May 24, 2010 at 8:29 amHi there, does anybody know the most effective way to reveal growing vines in Motion?, its pretty straight forward in AE but I cant seem to figure out the best way to do it in Motion?
Any ideas would be great?

May 26, 2010 at 3:25 pmMaybe use the bezier draw tool to draw the vines, then animate the start and end positions like we did for the moving arrows thing a while back. If there is already some art of your vines available, use the bezier tools to trace over the originals and use it as an animated revealing mask?

May 26, 2010 at 11:14 pmHi there, thanks for this – how do I create an animating revealing mask though? I cant seem to get the mask to reveal? I already have the vines drawn as .psd files.

May 26, 2010 at 11:28 pmYou can draw a white line over one of your leafs and add a Write on Behavior to that line. Then add a image mask to the white line and it will reveal the image (leaf) below. It works awesome. And for my shameless plug. My Apple Motion training DVD thoroughly covers this and much more. Best of luck.
