I have just created a basic animation in Motion that I would like to appear over video (transparently) in Final Cut Pro.

I have messed around with alpha channels in both Motion & FCP but I must be doing something wrong b/c I never see the video behind the animation.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance,

Just import your Motion project itself directly into FCP and place it over your video track.

If you feel compelled to render something out of Motion with transparency, you need to use a codec that supports an alpha channel, like Animation or ProRes 4444.
