shuffling groups in Layers Pane
Every time I try to change the order groups in my layers pane, whichever group I am moving wants to go into another group rather than relocate BETWEEN groups. Is there a way to prevent groups from grouping together with other groups? Locking groups doesn’t work, and this is getting to be really annoying.

I prefer to use the keyboard shortcuts to move layers and groups for this very reason – they are under the Object menu. Command-[ to move a layer or group down, Command-] to move it up. The same in Photoshop and After Effects, too!
