Ive been following the exercises in the book Motion 3 Apple pro training series and upon instructing me to bake a layer I do so but note that the quality of the (bake?) looks a lot poorer than the initial playback in the layer.

I am told to export using DVCPRO HD 720p30 as the choice matches the settings. Now I have solved the problem by exporting instead to Apple Pro Res 422(HQ). But my question is am i doing something wrong with the original instructions in the book? Surely if I follow the instructions to a tee then I shouldnt have a problem and quality should be good?

Its on page 295 if yuo do have the book.

Many thanks – Chris Kimber (Southampton UK)

You aren’t doing anything wrong – that’s just the way it works. It’s been better addressed in the Motion 4 book.
