Convincing exploding star??
This might be a bit advanced, or maybe there is a simple way to do it, i just cant work it out.
I have a space scene, moving stars and a sun in the middle. I want the sun to give out a few energy pulses, like shockwaves when a star explodes. Know what i mean? The big rings of energy flying through space.
Does anyone have a clue how to create something convincing in motion? Im happy with the rest of my star scene, the stars and sun look pretty good.

Thought i might answer my own question for this one, in case anyone finds it useful and is going for the same cheesy kinda things as me.
I simple used corona in the end, from the particle emitters. I rotated it to give it a 3D- look, and just scaled it up, along with sound effects and some filters. Worked fine for me. I guess it could be used for shockwaves from an explosion like a grenade or something too.
