Simple transparent clockwise wipe
I must disclose I am very new to Motion. And the time has come to create a countdown (like the old movie countdowns).
I just can’t figure out how to approach the wipe in Motion. I would think that there would be a preset in the Library, but haven’t found it yet.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you are trying to do the countdown where a number is in a circle and it wipes to the next number I would build that in FCP using the clock wipe. Hope this helps.

That is what I ended up doing, but I lack some control over the object(ie: it’s not vector based, etc.). It would be preferable if it could be done in Motion. At least the way I have approached it.Any ideas?

Just going on your “make it in FCP” recommendation, is there a way to export the timeline with transparency layers? I’m not getting the contrast I want when importing into Motion. I can alter the opacity of the object, but again, it’s not quite going right yet.

Two ideas:
1. In FCP, create a Black Color Matte and a white one. Put them both in the timeline and then add the clockwipe transition. Export that out as a movie. Import it into Motion and treat it as a Image Mask or Luma blend mode.
or
2. Create a mask and animate it.
