  trails – ribbon of light

  hi all,

  i have a dot orbiting around an element in 3d.
  now i want to make it a trail converting it into a “ribbon” of light

  i did that in AE and worked fine with “echo” filter there,
  but the echo in motion doesn’t do the trick, for the distance between the echoes
  is too big.
  adding motion blur is not enough to do the trick…

  any workarounds?

  it has to be a random track that the ribbon is taking orbiting around a sphere,
  so a simple circle paint (light -preset) doesn’t work here for me …

  any ideas?
