  Motion resizes image

  I’m working on an HDV project in FCP6. After creating basic moves on photos in FCP I send to Motion3 to smooth them out. Sometimes it works well, other times Motion resizes the image. For instance, I have a move in FCP that takes the photo from 60% of its full size to 70%. But when I send it to Motion, it is about half the size it was in FCP. I could of course just resize it but I’m wondering why this is happening.

  When you place an image into FCP’s timeline, it is automatically scaled to fit the timeline. So when you send it to Motion, it arrives there after FCP has scaled it.

  You don’t want to do that. you want to import the images directly into the Motion project form your disk, not from the FCP timeline.
