  pond ripple / blip effect

  Hi Guys, really basic i’m sure…

  trying to create a sonar/blip/pond ripple effect.
  Center emitting rings that scale up and fade out, can’y get the hang of the emitter?

  You actually don’t need an emitter for this. Create your ring using your shape tool and when you’re ready to animate it create one instance of the ring’s growth that you want using keyframes. Then in your keyframe editor select the animated parameters and right click the keyframe button thats just to the right of the values. Scroll down to “after last keyframe…” and hit repeat. Hope this helps or at least gets you closer to what you need.
