Effect question: Open aperture/”Man On Fire” effect

At 2:10 — You’ll notice it looks like the aperture is opened a few times. (It happens a lot throughout the video)
I think this is done with Motion.

Sure you could easily do something like that in motion- combine a speed ramp with a brightness or levels ramp and you’ll be all set.

Yes, it can be done in FCP as well.
Mess around with the Glow filters.
